Sunshine Coast swimmer Kaylee McKeown has broken a long standing Australian record on the Gold Coast.
22 year-old McKeown won the 200 metre individual medley at the Australian championships last night, becoming just the 5th swimmer in history to break the two minute, seven second barrier.
It breaks the national record set by Steph Rice.
It means McKeown has put herself in the frame to possibly win three gold medals at the Paris Olympics in the 100 and 200 metre backstroke as well as the medley.
She needs to qualify at the selection trials in Brisbane in June.
And coast swimmer Lani Pallister finished two seconds behind Ariarne Titmus in the 800 freestyle.
