Police have charged a 26-year-old Beachmere man with murdering a man in his 70s in Burpengary East yesterday.
The dead man’s 71 year-old wife is in a critical condition in a Brisbane hospital, also with head injuries.
Police allege they were attacked at their home.

It’s believed the Beachmere man was the neighbour’s gardener and was also working for the couple.
Several gardening tools were taken away from the home by detectives.
He has been charged with one count of murder and one count of attempted murder.
He was refused police bail and is due to appear in court today.
