Tonga forward Tevita Pangai has credited new Brisbane coach Anthony Seibold's arrival at Red Hill with convincing him to re-sign with the NRL club for another season.

Pangai, 22, had been considered a risk of following ex-Broncos mentor Wayne Bennett to South Sydney but has embraced a chance to play under ex-Rabbitohs coach Seibold.

"I just feel this was the best place that I can play my best football," he told the Broncos website.

"I was also really excited when I heard that Anthony Seibold was coming to the club - it's going to be a good step forward."

Pangai said he only signed a 2019 contract in order to earn a long term deal under Seibold.

"I'm a Brisbane Bronco. Obviously I want to stay - I'm going to be working hard to get another contract," he said.

"I've worked with (Seibold) before in the Junior Kangaroos and he's really good at explaining weaknesses in the other team and making sure that we are doing all the little things," he said.

"That's his main focus and he's holding us accountable to that."

Pangai was the last off contract star to commit to Brisbane after winger Corey Oates (one-year deal) and prop Matt Lodge (two-year deal) re-signed this week.
