More than 3,000 jobs in roadbuilding, engineering and design are up for grabs in the Moreton Bay and Sunshine Coast regions, the Palaszczuk Government has announced.

Transport and Main Roads Minister Mark Bailey today met with more than 500 industry representatives and local businesses to brief them on upcoming projects in the Palaszczuk Government's $14.5 billion regional roads program.

Member for Bancroft Chris Whiting said more than $3.13 billion would be spent in the Moreton Bay and Sunshine Coast regions.

"Roads and transport not only connect our communities but also create jobs and support industry," Mr Whiting said.

"I want to see as many locals as possible grab the jobs on offer as we build projects like Bruce Highway Caboolture to Steve Irwin Way duplication and the Maroochydore and Mons roads upgrades."

Member for Kurwongbah Shane King said the roads and transport spend was the Palaszczuk Government's fourth record roads and transport program.

"There's a job bonanza and we want to make sure local businesses and workers get in first," Mr King said.

"Since 2015, we've created a steady pipeline of projects to not only support our state's increased demand for roads and transport, but also jobs across the region."

Transport and Main Roads Minister Mark Bailey said across the state projects are being built like the Bruce Highway Caboolture duplication, $514.3 million Haughton River Floodplain Upgrade in Townsville, $497 million Mackay Ring Road Stage 1, $127 million Cairns Shipping Development, and $121 million Rockhampton Northern Access Upgrade.

"Head to Moreton Bay, the Sunshine Coast, Cairns and Townsville, and you'll find people turning up on job sites, building our future roads and transport."

Mr Bailey said over the coming month, briefings would be held throughout the state's regional centres, encouraging local businesses to tender for projects.
