Fans packed into Sunshine Coast Stadium on Saturday afternoon to witness the first NRL clash hosted in the region.
A record 11,912 footy fans soaked up the sunshine and watched South Sydney Rabbitohs secure a thrilling 28-24 comeback victory over the Warriors.
Following the win, Rabbitohs coach Wayne Bennett (pictured below) pushed for more games to be hosted on the Sunshine Coast.
"It's a great facility and the crowd was wonderful... if we can take games out of the big cities and bring them to these areas they (the fans) embrace it," he said.

Warriors coach Stephen Kearney (pictured below) said his team has always enjoyed playing on the Sunshine Coast.
"I reckon if you asked the lads they'd be back in a heartbeat, we love it here on the Coast."

Sunshine Coast Falcons coach Eric Smith believes the Coast should be looked at as an option if the NRL decides to relocate a team from Sydney.
"We've definitely got the facilities here for it to be sustainable... I know there's been a few other areas in the mix for that for a few years now," he said.
