Potential For Cyclone To Develop Off Qld's North Coast
Far north Queensland could be hit by another tropical cyclone in coming days.
Forecasters are keeping a close watch on a tropical low, which could intensify in the northern Coral Sea over the weekend.
The low pressure system is sitting up around Papua New Guinea at the moment.
Seven News is reporting that the system is tipped to shift closer towards Queensland over the weekend and said there's a moderate chance of it forming into a Tropical Cyclone.
It also reports that Northern Queensland could be impacted next week.
But the Bureau of Meteorology said it didn't expect to see anything form in that area for at least another fortnight.
BOM is watching three systems at the moment, the one we have already mentioned as well as one up around the Northern Territory and another off Western Australia.4
