Fire Weather Warning Issued

A Fire Weather Warning is current for the Capricornia, Central Highlands and Coalfields, Darling Downs and Granite Belt, Wide Bay and Burnett and Southeast Coast forecast districts.

Issued at 1:47 am EST on Monday 2 December 2019.

Weather Situation
Fresh to strong, dry, and gusty west to southwesterly winds are expected to
create Severe fire danger in the Capricornia, Central Highlands and Coalfields,
Darling Downs and Granite Belt, Wide Bay and Burnett, and Southeast Coast
Districts.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected to clear by the early morning, though
while in the area bring the risk of lightning as an ignition source for new
fires as well as gusty and erratic winds.

For the rest of Monday 2 December:

Severe Fire Danger is forecast for the following forecast districts:
Capricornia, Central Highlands and Coalfields, Darling Downs and Granite Belt,
Wide Bay and Burnett and Southeast Coast

The Rural Fire Service Queensland advises you to:
- Action your Bushfire Survival Plan now.
- Monitor the fire and weather situation through your local radio station,
www.ruralfire.qld.gov.au and www.bom.gov.au.
- Call 000 (Triple Zero) in an emergency.

No further warnings will be issued for this event, but the situation will
continue to be monitored and further warnings issued if necessary.
