Coast's Own Surf Film Festival Features Premiere

The annual four day Sunshine Coast film festival is on again, and is promising a few gnarly flicks.

In its second year the event showcases the best international, national and local surf films.

"We do have some local content, but we'd love more, we'd want more locals to make movies,"

Festival director Murray Power, said as the surf culture continues to grow across the coast, he'd like to see more local filmmakers.

"What the Sunshine Coast has going for it is it's a real nursery for up and coming filmmakers, again it comes down to funding and being prepared to live on the poverty line to get movies like this made, he said"

This year’s festival will also feature the Australian Premiere of African movie "Beyond"
