Trails closed at Tibrogargan during planned burn
You might have to change or delay your bushwalk plans this week, with a planned burn happening at Mt Tibrogargan.
Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service is conducting the burn within the Tibrogargan section of the Glass House Mountains National Park from today through until Thursday.
A number of facilities and trails will be closed for the duration of the planned burn including Tibrogargan trailhead including the day-use area, Tibrogargan circuit, Summit access routes – including all rock-climbing areas, and the Tibrogargan section of the Trachyte circuit.
Authorities are urging the public to observe all signage and barriers and not to enter closed areas.
As a result of the burn, there might be some smoke in the Beerburrum, Glass House and Beerwah area.
Traffic control along Barrs and Marshes roads will also be in place during this planned burn.
The aim of this burn is to reduce the volume of forest fuels and to create a mosaic pattern of burnt and unburnt areas.
