Drivers and homeowners urged not be complacent in ongoing flood event
As rainfall continues to inundate Queensland, residents are urged to ensure they're prepared for the deluge.
More than a dozen flood warnings are current across several regions, with 500 flooded roads across Queensland - and the situation changing rapidly.
People are being told to avoid any unnecessary travel, while securing cars and homes.
“Please make sure your vehicles are in a safe location on higher ground and if your property is at risk of flooding, remove personal belongings and contents from low lying areas and ensure you have your emergency kit and evacuation plan ready.” said RACQ spokesperson Kate Leonard-Jones.
Adds Ms. Leonard-Jones "RACQ had already received more than 120 insurance claims from the current severe weather event with 80% related to property damage."
