Severe weather warning issued for Sunshine Coast, Gympie
The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe weather warning for the Sunshine Coast and Gympie regions with up to 160mm of rain forecast.
The bureau says an upper low moving into south-east Queensland will result in widespread rainfall from early Friday morning.
Heavy rainfall which may lead to flash flooding is forecast to develop during the early hours of Friday and continue into Friday evening.
Six-hourly rainfall totals between 100mm to 160mm are possible
Locations which may be affected include Gympie, Bundaberg, Hervey Bay, Cooroy, Nambour and Rainbow Beach.
