A second person has died following a crash west of Beerburrum.

The Forensic Crash Unit says initial investigations indicate a Mitsubishi Triton and Toyota Landcruiser, travelling in opposite directions, collided on D’Aguilar Highway at Stony Creek around 10.20am on Friday.

The driver of the Landcruiser, a 51-year-old Glamorgan Vale man, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The passengers of that vehicle, a 49-year-old woman, and a teenage boy, were transported to hospital for treatment of their injuries.

The driver and passenger of the Triton, a 52-year-old woman and a 58-year-old man, were also transported to hospital from the scene.

Police have confirmed the 52-year-old woman from the Kidaman Creek area, has sadly also passed away.

She died in hospital earlier this week as a result of her injuries.

Investigations are continuing.

Anyone with information or dash cam vision that may be able to assist investigators is urged to come forward.
