The Glass House Mountains lookout area at Beerburrum West State Forest will be shut today and tomorrow.

Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service officers are conducting a planned burn in the area, weather permitting.

As a result, smoke may be seen in the Glass House Mountains and Beerburrum areas, while all facilities including the lookout, toilets, day-use area and walking tracks will be closed for the duration.

Visitors are being asked to observe all signage, barriers and not to enter closed areas.

QPWS is also conducting another planned burn at Bribie Island National Park near McMahon Road Fuel Break from today, while Sunshine Coast Council's doing a prescribed burn in a section of Forest Oak Court Bushland Conservation Reserve..

Authorities warn smoke can decrease visibility on the roads, so it is important for motorists to drive safely to the conditions.
