Melbourne Storm returns to the Coast
Melbourne Storm will play another NRL game on the Sunshine Coast, as uncertainty surrounding coronavirus continues down south.
The defending premiers will play their round 15 clash against Wests Tigers at Sunshine Coast Stadium on June 19.
It follows on from the round 13 match against the Gold Coast Titans, which was played in front of almost 8,000 fans last weekend.
Tickets for the Tigers game will go on sale via Ticketek at 4pm today (Tuesday).
Storm CEO Justin Rodski says moving the game against the Tigers to Queensland was unavoidable.
“I can understand the disappointment our members are feeling about missing out on seeing Storm at home over this current lockdown period.
“We are very thankful to Sunshine Coast Council and Sunshine Coast Stadium for partnering with us again for the round 15 clash," Rodski says.
Storm will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation in Victoria and will take advice from the NRL and governments before making any decision on future games.
