Driver accused of repeatedly running over Sunshine Coast woman
A man will face court today charged with attempted murder, accused of driving over a Sunshine Coast women at Caboolture.
Police allege the 27-year-old New South Wales man performed a 'burnout' in the backyard of a Namatjia Court address, late on Saturday night.
They say a 47-year-old Peachester woman went to confront the driver of the white Nissan Patrol, when he drove over her repeatedly.
She's suffered significant injuries to her leg and foot, later taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The man is also accused of driving over property and ramming a car, before another woman at the home used a vehicle to reverse into the Patrol.
Police say the Moonee man climbed out the window of the heavily damaged Patrol and fled the scene on foot, but was tracked down and arrested a short time later.
He was taken to the Caboolture Hospital and cleared of any injuries, before being charged with one count of attempted murder.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Caboolture Magistrates Court today.
Those involved are understood to be known to each other.
