Probe underway after teen allegedly assaulted at coast school bus stop
An investigation into the alleged assault of a teenage boy not far from a Sunshine Coast school is underway.
The Department of Education spokesperson says the department is aware of an incident involving a Beerwah State High School student, which happened outside the school grounds last week.
Police are investigating.
It is understood the boy was attacked near the school’s bus stop on Roberts Road.
The education department says like all Queensland state schools, Beerwah SHS is committed to providing a safe, respectful and disciplined learning environment.
“Any situation that threatens the safety and wellbeing of students, staff or others in the school community is treated extremely seriously, and dealt with as a matter of priority,” the spokesperson says.
“No further details can be provided due to student privacy issues.”
