Drivers slow down on David Low Way
The speed limit has dropped along a section of David Low Way at Diddillibah.
From Monday September 14, the limit was permanently reduced to 60km/h between approximately the Fishermans Road and Petrie Creek Road intersections.
Transport and Main Roads Deputy Regional Director for North Coast Leah McKenzie said a speed limit review had been completed.
She said the review process considered a range of factors such as road function, roadside environment, road construction standards, prevailing traffic speeds and crash history.
“In consideration of these factors, it's recommended to permanently reduce the speed limit from 70km/h to 60km/h,” she said.
“This has been endorsed by the Sunshine Coast Speed Management Committee which includes representatives from the Queensland Police Service, Sunshine Coast Council and Transport and Main Roads.
“I urge all motorists to observe the new speed limit signs and to always drive to the conditions.”
