Bus And Car Collide Injuring Nine, Yandina

Nine people have been injured after a bus collided with a car at Yandina on Friday.  

The seven children and two adults are being assessed by Paramedics on Yandina Coolum Road.

The accident happened at 7.29AM.  

A majority have minor injuries.

Sunshine Coast Operations Supervisor Darren Sweedman said the driver of the car and the driver of the bus and seven child passengers on the bus were injured and taken to SCUH.  

Three children and two adults (driver of the bus and car) were taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital, a majority of the children were suffering neck injuries due to whiplash.  Others suffered seatbelt injuries from the sudden impact.  

Three separate Ambulances were required to transport the injured children and adults.

Four others were assessed and didn't go to hospital.
