Raiders Hold Open Training Session And Bushfire Appeal On Coast
The Raiders will hold an open training session on the Sunshine Coast on Friday.
The NRL side will be here ahead of their NRL season opener against the Titans in March. The two sides will clash at GIO Stadium in Canberra.
Ashley Robinson from the Sunshine Coast Falcons explained that the open training session will be held at the Sunshine Coast Stadium and will include a fundraiser for the bushfire relief appeal.
It will be held between 10:00AM and 12 noon and there will be an opportunity for fans to meet their favourite Raiders players following the session.
Mr Robinson explained that because the Raiders are coming from an area affected by the bushfires he knows that player Curtis Scott has created a fundraiser on GoFundMe, raising money for his Rural Fire Brigade.
He said "Sunshine Coast Stadium is as good as anywhere in the country as far as their surface is concerned in terms of playing Rugby League".
Mr Robinson also said "They've got a good gym there but plus now with the Sports Hub across the road with world class facilities and medical...physio etc, conference rooms; the Sunshine Coast is becoming a world class destination for high level sports".
You can find the event on Facebook.
