Police are preparing a report for the coroner, following the death of a German tourist at a Sunshine Coast beach.
The woman and her husband, both tourists from Germany, were swimming at North Peregian Beach around 7am on Saturday when it’s believed they got caught in a rip.
The man managed to make it back to shore, while the woman was swept a fair way out.
Members of the public pulled her out of the water.
CPR was performed before the 68-year-old was rushed to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, where she was tragically declared deceased.
Police say her husband, also in his 60s, is being cared for by family who live on the Sunshine Coast.
