Nine teenagers have been arrested and in the last week and are facing more than 70 charges over a string of alleged property offences committed in Redcliffe, the Sunshine Coast and across the Fraser Coast region.
The offences are mainly property related and include 32 counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, 11 counts of residential burglary and 11 counts of enter premises and commit an indictable offence.
The seven boys and two girls are from Hervey Bay and range in age from 14 to 17.
All nine youths appeared in the Hervey Bay Children’s Court on July 24 and have had their matters adjourned to a later date. Four of the teenagers were remanded in custody.
Police wish to acknowledge the assistance provided by members of community who sighted the stolen vehicles and occupants and reported these sightings to police.
