Coast swimmer sets more records in the pool

Sunshine Coast swimmer Kaylee McKeown has had an amazing three weeks at World Cup events in Europe.

On the weekend in Budapest, she won the 50 metre backstroke in a world record time to become the first swimmer, male or female, to hold all three world records in the same stroke from 50 to 200 metres in long course events.

The 50m backstroke record had stood for five years.

The 22 year-old won all nine backstroke races, some in world record time, in the three-week World Cup series and won $158,000 for being named women’s World Cup champion.
