School Holiday Projects for Under $50

The team at Sunshine Mitre 10 have school holidays sorted. Check out these three
fun activities you can do with the kids, all for under $50!

1. Build your own veggie patch
Who doesn’t want to take a crack at growing their own food nowadays?
Choose a spot outside in full sunlight, then head into Sunshine Mitre 10 to
pick up garden bed materials, soil and veggie seeds.

2. Paint your own canvas painting
You don’t need much to pull off this project. Pick up a blank canvas, brushes
and paints all on a budget from Sunshine Mitre 10. Not sure on what to paint?
Here’s some ideas to get you started – ocean scenes, abstract or patterns
(great way to get the kids experimenting with polka dots, stripes, etc.)

3. Build a cubby house
Traditional cubby houses can be a big investment of time, money and
materials, so why not build a temporary one out of cardboard?
This way the cubby house can live outside or inside (if space is an issue at
home) and you can let the kids go wild decorating the interior and exterior with
coloured pens, stickers, etc.! You’ll need large cardboard boxes, scissors to
cut out windows and doors, plus your arts and crafts materials.
